Something Old, Something New

Something Old, Something New

Guess who’s back! Apologies it has been so long since my last post. The sleepless nights along with the whole transition back into working life has been a very difficult one. As much as I love life at Dine at 29, I didn’t realise just how much I would miss my wife to be, Alix, and not so small baby, Crawford. Thankfully the body and mind have now caught up and functioning well, even on the little sleep I get each night!

As the title says, we have had more exciting times of late at Dine with a continually busy period since I got back. My team have done a fantastic job in my absence and have continued to develop since I returned.

Our something old celebrates the development and hard work of one of our longest members of the team, Christy McGregor. Christy has been with us since the young age of 17 and has developed into a mature adult in very little time. Her belief and drive in what we aim to achieve at Dine has been a delight to see and as such she has now joined the management structure. Not only do we see Christy developing her skills continuously with the step up, we also see her as a key member of the team in developing and growing our front of house offering. Many of you will know Christy from your visits and I am sure you will all wish her well in her new role.

Our something new comes in the form of our new head chef. It was a delight to secure Anthony’s expertise and I personally can’t wait to work with him on all the new and exciting food we plan to bring to you. Originally from Liverpool, Anthony has worked all over Europe before he took some time out to care for his wife Megan and son George over the past year. Thankfully, I managed to persuade him to dawn the Chef whites again and I am sure you will start to see his influence in the food very soon.

Finally, Spring is now upon us and at this time of year the events come thick and fast. Good Friday this year will see us celebrate the long weekend in style with the launch of our Easter set menu which includes a free Easter Egg for all kids. We also have a fun filled weekend as Paw patrol visit both Saturday and Sunday in our sold-out Brunch parties. We are already looking at another brunch to celebrate the start of summer in July, so stay tuned for more info in the next instalment.

OK, so who has the Easter bunny’s phone number? I might need to increase the Easter Egg order…

See you all soon

Iain
